2009 WEEKLY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

From June 26, 2009 through Labor Day (Updated 6-23)

Every Day

7am: Morning Watch - Start the day at the beautiful outdoor chapel overlooking the
pond for a time of quiet reflection. Join Holly for Lectio Divina or Imaginative Prayer.

7am-dusk: Boating. A fleet of row boats and canoes are available to use every day.
The lake is ideal to explore by boat. Go fishing early in the morning or at dusk....the
lake has bass, catfish, and perch. We provide a life vest for each boater.

1pm-5pm: Swimming. A sandy beach leads to the spring-fed waters of our pond. The
swim area is roped off with a shallow area for beginners and a deeper area with a
loating dock for more advanced swimmers. Using a float in the deep end is ideal for
catching some rays. Lifeguard is on duty during swim time.

Sundays

10 am - Informal worship at the chapel. In case of rain, the service is held in the
lower barn.

Mondays

10 am-noon - “On-site Insights.” A workshop to improve your campfire cooking skills.
Meet at Tent & Trailer.

Tuesdays

10 am-noon - Nature Activity: "Life in Hathaway Pond" - Come meet the little critters who call our pond their home. Use magnifying glasses and microscopes to get an up-close look. Meet at the beach.

6 pm - Manager’s Pot Luck Supper. A Kingswood fellowship tradition. Sign up at the barn (number of people) and tell us what dish you’ll be bringing.

6:45 pm - Hand-cranked ice cream making & eating at the barn. Mmm!

Wednesdays

10 am-noon – Craft Area Activity: “Hemp Bracelets, Anklets, Chokers, Necklaces” Knotting with hemp is easy and fun. Add beads for decoration.

Thursdays

10 am - Hike day! We’ll provide a guided hike to some part of the 766 acre site, led by various Kingswood friends. See bulletin board for details.

7 pm - “Hey! Ride.” A Kingswood family tradition; tractor-powered evening hey! rides. Harry (our 1953 Ferguson tractor) chugs off from the parking field across from the farmhouse, following camp roads, then off into the woods and fields for an old-fashioned ride. Bring your voice, instruments, and join the fun. Only 20 seats…so sign up at the barn!

Fridays

10 am - Stone Ministry - Meet at the barn, and join others to affirm your faith, commemorate or celebrate a person or life event. Select your special stone and have it cemented into this permanent structure. See the Stone Ministry brochure for details.

7-9 pm - An old-time Friday night social at the barn. We’ll serve popcorn and hot and cold drinks. This is an opportunity to meet other campers and staff, play board games, do jigsaw puzzles, enjoy music and other activities. The store will be open and the Program Director will be available to answer any and all questions you may have about Kingswood and camping.

Saturdays

9:30-11 am - Two Stone Ministry programs: 9:30-11 am or 2:00-3:30 pm. Gather at the barn (see Friday at 10 am for program details).

10 am-noon: - Craft Area Activity:
“God's Eyes” (start at 10 or start at 11) Bring something home to remind you of Kingswood. Use yarn in colors that are special to you to make a personalized Kingswood God's Eye.

5 and/or 7pm - A Kingswood “Hey! Ride” chugs off from the parking field across from the farmhouse. Sign up in the barn. (20 person limit each ride.)

8 pm - Campfire at the teepee by the pond. S’mores, stories, songs and other activities.

Check the bulletin boards for additional and SPECIAL program events.

Every Night

Quiet Hours begin at 10 p.m. Please be courteous to other campers. Thanks!
