Kingswood Family Camp Policies,
 Regulations, Safety

1. Please obey all printed notices and staff’s verbal instructions.

2. Quiet hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. No noise at all. Really. (Sound travels in the outdoors).

3. No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances.

4. No smoking in the barn, at the beach, or on trails. No smoking anywhere, except near your fireplace. Please dispose of all cigarette butts in the garbage.

5. No fireworks, chain saws, power tools, terrain vehicles, or weapons.

6. Fires are built only in our fireplaces or in council fire circles. Flames should be less than 12 inches high. No bonfires. Cut dead fallen wood, not standing trees.

7. Boat and canoe hours are from 7 a.m. until dusk. Use only our boats (prevents lake contamination). All must wear a life jacket (we supply). A canoe must contain one person at least 18 years old; boats need someone 12 years or older in them. Please go slow, stay seated, and avoid the swim area when boating or canoeing. Enter and exit boats only at the boat dock.

8. Swimming is allowed only when the lifeguard is on duty. Swimming hours will be posted at the lake and barn. Please respect the authority of the lifeguard. No food, radios, or pets are allowed on the beach. You may picnic at the tables in the craft area. No fishing near the swim area.

9. New York State fishing laws apply at Kingswood.

10. We follow county recycling guidelines (details at camp). If you use your own trash bags, they must be clear.

11. Speed limit on camp roads is 10 m.p.h. That’s really slow. Really. So slow, that you’ll feel better and enjoy camp life more if you park your vehicle and walk around the site.

12. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must have proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination, must be kept leashed, and must stay off the beach.

All Kingswood policies are listed in the Manager’s handbook, located at the Farmhouse.

Campers who ignore rules, misbehave, or are disrespectful may be asked to leave.
